Artist run gallery – Also Known As – gathered a selection of work to create an artificial atmosphere. In a scenery of shaved grass, bouncing polyether, shimmering crystals and a radiating screen; one is invited to question aesthetics and the way one is biased in their way of approaching material.
‘Being Emphasised’ is a continuation of the research into how we mentally, visually or physically form definitions of our surroundings. The border between abstraction and an interpretable object is a specific element of interest. The stool derived after looking into the natural phenomena carried out by three kinds of birds; Lophorina, Parotia and Ptiloris. They form their feathers into an oval and thereby alter their body shapes as an act of persuation.
